"Tuloy as of this moment. Hindi ko alam kung kailan ipapalabas pero naka-schedule na ang military training nina Sam this coming week so may dates na talaga kami. Kumbaga before, usap-usapan lang pero ngayon, may mga dates na hinahanda so mas klaro.

"Regarding Gretchen, I have no idea, ang weird naman kung magko-comment ako kasi hindi ko alam ang pangyayari. Ang sa akin, I'm waiting for the call kung kailan ang start and yun lang ang masasabi ko from my side," aniya.

"I have no idea kung bakit natagalan, pero siguro naman dahil we want to produce the best show possible in terms of schedules naming lahat. Puwedeng revisions sa scripts pero I'm not sure pero siguro pinaghahandaan lang.

"Basta ako, I'm very, very excited dahil medyo matagal akong nagpahinga, I miss it, tuloy-tuloy ako sa hosting, I have PGT and E-Live," ang sabi ni Luis.

"Ang hindi lang naman nakaka-miss sa acting e, yung oras e. Sa hosting kasi medyo hawak mo pa yung oras mo, sa serye, talagang kakain siya ng oras mo.

"Good thing, yung acting kasi is outlet mo rin yan, ng mga emosyon. It's an easy way or an excuse to let out an emotion so yun ang nakaka-miss dun."

Taping for upcoming teleserye Alta, which includes Luis Manzano will start next week, beginning October 19

Military Training. Luis Manzano undergone a military training for his TV role in Alta along with Sam Milby and Zanjoe Marudo as part of preparations to acquire a sense of proper decorum fit for someone who belongs to a very prominent family, to learn more discipline and proper posture na very military ang nature.

They learned various military drills during the 3-day training with marines. On 1st day, they learned rhythmic commands, all marches and drills. Kung ano yung tamang posisyon ng bawat parte ng katawan. On the 2nd day, they learned how to assemble and disassemble the parts of an M16 rifle.

Casting. Luis plays the brother of Gretchen Barretto and Sam Milby.

Sam Milby gives up role in 'Alta'

Actor Sam Milby has given up two local showbiz projects as he is set to go to the United States next year.

Milby said on his Twitter account that he will be staying in New York for at least three months so he will not be part of upcoming ABS-CBN series "Alta," which also stars Gretchen Barretto and Luis Manzano.

He was also supposed to do a movie with actress Bea Alonzo.

"Well the meetings in NYC went great and now I'll be in the States starting Feb next year for a minimum of 3 months," Milby wrote.

"But sadly I won't be doing 'Alta' or the movie with Bea because I'll be gone for so long," he added.

In a previous interview, Milby admitted that it is his dream to make it in Hollywood.

Kinumpirma niya sa amin na by November, sigurado na ang pagsisimula ng taping ng Alta. Sa ngayon ay may mga revisions lang na ginagawa sa script at aminado si Luis na excited siya sa kanyang pagbabalik-teleserye dahil matagal-tagal na rin siyang ‘di nakakaarte, pagkatapos na mapanood siya sa pelikulang In My Life kung saan nanalo siya ng ilang awards.

Sa unang sulyap pa lang sa cast ng pinakaaabangang teleserye na “Alta,” patalbugan na ang mga tampok na bida.

Larawan ng glamor sina KC Concepcion, Angelica Panganiban, Luis Manzano, Zanjoe Marudo at Diether Ocampo sa kanilang pictorial sa San Agustin, Intramuros.

Ito rin ang hudyat ng pagbabalik-primetime ni Gretchen Barretto matapos ang matagumpay na seryeng "Magkaribal."

Luis Manzano hopes to level up his acting prowess via ‘Alta’



After almost three years, Luis Manzano returns to TV acting via the teleserye Alta. The actor-host’s last series was Dyosa (2008-2009) with Anne Curtis.

In Alta, Luis will play the role of Rafael whose achievements are always not good enough for his family. “Medyo may similarity siya sa character ko sa (2009 movie) In My Life, kay Mark dahil it was basically saying me not living up to the expectations,” he explained.

Since he concentrated on hosting in the past couple of years, Luis admitted that he had to familiarize himself again in acting. “Naninibago [ako], kahit sa standby area ang kulit-kulit ko, kumbaga andun pa rin ‘yung [pagiging] host ko.” Still, he said that acting is important to him because it provides him an avenue for growth. “Sabi ko nga it’s still one thing that I have to do being part of the industry. I want to grow in this industry hindi lang puro hosting. Kahit paano nga I’m fortunate enough na ma-recognize sa acting so it makes you yearn for more. Gusto mong iangat ang pag-arte mo,” he explained. Luis earned two Best Supporting Actor trophies in 2009 for his role in In My Life.

In Alta, Luis is intent on pulling off his character to prove that he has matured as an actor. “[The role] gets me excited again. Iniisip ko nga na ulit paano ko ba kukunin ang atake ko sa role na ito? The whole project is very exciting, especially ‘yung mga makakasama ko. I’m going to take this as one big learning experience once again.”

Initially, Sam Milby was supposed to be part of Alta but he had to give it up to focus on his international career in the coming months. Diether Ocampo has taken over Sam’s role. “Sayang nga, eh kasi pinag-iisipan namin Dyosa boys kami, eh,” he said, pertaining to himself, Sam and another Alta co-star Zanjoe Marudo, who were all together in Dyosa. Nonetheless, Luis is still happy that Diet will be part of the cast because he had worked with him before in Rounin (2007). Luis said, “Kumbaga it’s really one big family again, pantay pa rin. I am not going to say Sam should have been better at that role, kumbaga pareho silang may kakaibang maihahain.”

Luis was also all praises for his leading lady, Angelica Panganiban, who was his leading lady in Rounin. After four years, the actor-host could not help but observe how she has transformed into a fine actress. “No doubt that Angelica is one of the finest actors that stepped in front of the camera. Ke bata-bata napakagaling na niya,” said Luis. “Working with her again, ito drama na talaga, definitely I’m going to learn something from her.”

He said that he is not worried about their chemistry because he is confident that their good friendship will be visible on-screen. “Kahit ‘di kami nagkakasama sa proyekto nagkakausap pa rin kami so hopefully that translates into chemistry. Kumbaga napakatalino na ng Filipino audience na you don’t necessarily need to have a romantic relationship for them to appreciate what you do on the screen.”
