1. LANGUAGE TO BE USED IN POSTINGS as per Terms of Agreement (TOA) of Proboards, we are required to use English as the only means of communication.
2. PERSONAL ATTACKS AND INSULTS. Posting PERSONAL ATTACKS , BASHING and gross personal insults are not allowed.
Board stalking, harassment and thread-bombing will not be tolerated on the message boards. If you have a legitimate gripe with another board member that cannot be handled privately, say your piece on the board and if you get a response you can post again once. The ongoing flame wars serve no purpose and do not belong on the message boards.
Objectionable language is any curse word (even cleverly misspelled or old-fashioned method of "****" to cover an entire word), racial slur, description or depiction of an adult situation or outright threat to a fellow board member.
3. PICTURES AND IMAGES. Posting of nude or semi-nude pictures or its links are stricly prohibited. We are PG-13 and do have kids browsing the message board. Please limit image size to a maximum of 640 x 480 pixels. Larger sized pics will be deleted or reduced without notice.
4. SIGNATURES
Signatures or Sigs must conform to the following standards:
Signatures must not contain any type of ads - selling or solicitation. There is a section - The Market Place - where members are free to post ads.
Maximum font size used for signatures should not be larger than normal. See example below:
This sentence is an example using a normal sized font.
Signatures must not exceed the maximum of four (4) lines. Each line must be able to fit into 600 pixels.
Clickable links are allowed provided they are not linked to web sites that contain illegal materials (warez, pirated software, hate, anarchy and the like). Links to web sites containing materials that are NOT legally viewable by minors are also prohibited.
Signatures that are offensive or defammatory to LUISJEN Message Board, its members, its staff, or to any entity are prohibited. Signatures with hate messages, religious or racial slurs can be grounds for banning.
LUISJEN Message Board reserves the right to ask members to change and/or remove signatures at any time, for ANY reason.
5. SPAMMING. Posting senseless and pointless posts just to acquire a number of post is considered spamming and are not allowed. Try to keep the number of new threads to a minimum. Multiple post with the same content is considered as flooding and spamming, any member caught doing this will be automatically banned without prior warning.
6. MESSAGE BOARD CATEGORIES. Posters (especially new members) are required to start new threads or topics under its proper category or board. Please double check the board title where you are posting before making a post.
7. AVATARS. We only allow LUISJEN RELATED or personal photos as avatars. NO SEXUAL avatars please. Avatars should have a maximum height or maximum width of 100 pixels and a maximum file size of 80 kb.
8. Any violation of the above rules may result in warnings or immediate banishment of the violator from the Message Board. The moderators reserved the right to edit, delete and lock any posts as may be necessary under the circumstances.
These rules are subject to modification and alteration in the future as the moderators deemed fit and necessary.
MESSAGE BOARD GUIDELINES:
RESPECT ONE ANOTHER - BE KIND AND COURTEOUS
Treat other LuisJens with respect. Do not be rude, vulgar, spiteful or bigoted. Discuss the message posted, not the person who posted the message.
Ask questions, post information, share ideas, and help others if you can. If for some reason, you have complaints, make them in a civilized manner. There's no need to resort to name-calling or insults. Explain your concerns and substantiate your position in a constructive way.
What is "constructive" you ask? A constructive feedback is one that we can use to get other members to react and contribute ideas. It is one that helps us decide what is best for the given topic. Posting something like "YOU SUCK" is not only rude but also useless. We understand that members can get passionate and that passion can lead to strong emotions. But this type of message will only lead to a member being sanctioned and the topic being removed/locked. There is a difference between forceful advocacy of ones beliefs (which is allowed) and personally attacking another LuisJen member (which is not allowed).
Think about how your message will be perceived before writing. Since this is a virtual community, our messages do not carry "tone" similar to when we speak. So a statement intended to be harmless may be taken as something negative.
RESPECT COPYRIGHT
DO NOT post entire articles or images copied and pasted from other web sites. Instead, post short excerpts (1 or maybe 2 paragraphs) then post a link to the original source citing them accordingly. Always credit your sources by posting links to them. Any posts found to contain copyright violation will either be edited or deleted.
POSTING AND USING IMAGES
Refer to the aforementioned copyright proviso. These and the following rules apply to signatures as well.
Do not post extremely large images (both in dimension and in file size). Remember, some members are still on dial-up and low resolution. Let's give them the courtesy of not having to wait forever just to see an image.
Do not post adult-oriented or suggestive pictures and/or links to such materials. These will be deleted without question and the offending member will be issued a warning. Members who insist on posting such images/materials/links will be banned permanently.
When quoting a previous post containing an image, edit the quote and exclude the image. There is nothing more annoying than quoting a huge image only to say "Cool pic."
SPAM and CROSS-POSTING IS PROHIBITED
One definition of SPAM is posting identical or similar material repeatedly in one, or more, threads. Even if the posted material in question is on-topic, please DO NOT post it "en-masse." The boards are separated into topics for the purpose of helping everyone find relevant materials. Posting the same thing to multiple threads only defeats that purpose.
Members found to be in violation of this rule will:
* have their messages deleted on all threads where it is encountered;
* be issued a warning via PM and/or email.
Further spamming by the member will result in that member being banned.
Remember, it's not the number of posts that matters - it's the substance. We prefer quality over quantity.
Also, chain e-mail, pyramid schemes, and other such solicitations are inappropriate in this Message Board and will be removed by the Moderators.
AGREE TO DISAGREE
Some discussions can become quite passionate and turn heated. Human nature - people always like to "win" an argument and will fight tooth and nail until the end. Bear in mind, many of these arguments CANNOT be won. When an argument starts to contain vulgar and personally-insulting language, then it's a sign that the argument is going nowhere. Respect the fact that other members will always have a viewpoint that's not in line with yours. So just agree to disagree.
PLEASE PRACTICE GENERAL NETIQUETTE
For example, do not post entire messages in ALL CAPS - it is equivalent to shouting. Also, please do not use font sizes that are too small to read or too big that they can be mistaken for yelling.
Do not bump threads just to stay on top. Bumping should be limited to a maximum of 1 per day. Members who bumps excessively will be given a warning.
If you are a newbie, lurk around first and observe. Introduce yourself and get to know other members. Newbies who come to LuisJen just to promote personal agendas or to sell stuff are generally frowned upon.

GOT QUESTIONS? CONTACT ONE OF THE MODERATORS
Please bear in mind that some questions may not be answered immediately. We don't make promises we can't keep, or talk about something that isn't ready to be discussed (e.g. studio visits, fan meet, etc.). We will also not give assumptions/ speculations, because giving incorrect information is just as bad as having no information at all.
So if your question isn't answered, it's possible that we don't have the required information at that time. Moderators also have lives to live, so you may find that responses do not come in a timely manner sometimes, especially during weekends and holidays.
Thanks for your time and your understanding of these house rules and guidelines!
HAVE FUN IN LUISJEN'S HAPPY WORLD!
